14/04/2014 2013 Vintage
Our first impressions
For a complicated vintage like 2013, the nature of the terroir at Meyney was undoubtedly a major asset. Like its counterparts perched on the heights of Saint Estèphe, the property did not suffer from the severe weather at the beginning of the summer. During a wet year, the proximity to the river, which acts as a corridor of wind, also constitutes an advantage in regulating the moisture content of the berries. These strengths were enough to allow us to wait until maturity before picking. The result of this luxury can be seen on tasting: Château Meyney 2013 is a dense wine, its tannic structure marrying harmoniously with the indulgent aromas of the red fruits.

10/01/2014 Excellent way trough small details
Château Meyney the attention center
Special Wine Echos newspaper has made a good wink to us with its article dealing with “artisans d’art” and more especially “l’excellence tout azimuts”.
Our crus are honored and the work of all the team, from technical department to commercial department via our wine-growers, is warmly emphasized. The article is particularly focusing on Château Meyney which it qualifies as “an awesome wine with a pure and harmonious nose of cedar”.
We are delighting for this beautiful article and we sincerely thank Echos newspaper for this beautiful gift.

15/11/2013 A Saint-Estèphe not to be miss!
The excellent grade of Château Meyney
Primeur tasting of 2012 vintage is a great success for Château Meyney because our Saint-Estèphe has been awarded by a gorgeous 17/20 for the same event.
The team, which works a lot all year, is really proud of this result especially as the wine is quoted as having “a specific fruit and is full of shine”. We are such delighted that Château Meney is considered as a wine “not to be missed”. -
18/03/2013 2012 Vintage
Our first impressions
The 2012 winegrowing season was characterized by rather severe weather conditions that required a great deal of vigilance in the vineyard.
A cold, rainy spring, followed by a particularly dry summer, slowed down the vines' growth cycle, resulting in uneven ripening.
We waited until the first week of October to start the harvests. Despite some rain in October, the vineyard remained in good health throughout the harvest period.
2012 was, however, a complicated, unusual year, a typical winegrower's vintage. The choices made by vineyard owners were more important than ever. 2012 was often kinder to the Merlot than the Cabernet Sauvignon, which explains its high proportion in our final blends compared to recent vintages. -

07/06/2012 2011 Vintage
Our first impressions
2011 is a highly technical vintage, which required precision and discipline. We think that we have overcome this difficulty. The climate during the first week of September could have tempted us to speed up harvest in order to guarantee a satisfactory crop. Instead, we intensified our efforts and acquired extremely efficient selection equipment, thus obtaining perfectly ripe grapes which reflect our ambitious quality standards. The first tastings show that our strategy paid off! Meyney 2011 shows perfect balance, quality tannins, good density and a broad aromatic spectrum.
Château Meyney 2011 has received a very warm welcome from the international critics. Robert Parker marked him 90/100: "[...] Old timers undoubtedly remember Meyney-s brilliant track record in the decades of the 1970s and 1980s, and it appears things are back on track at this St.-Estephe estate."
